'The Big Night In' raised over $1.9 Million dollars for the 'Kids Can charity'. 23 hours of television is no easy task and TV3 did an amazing job. Native Audio was responsible for audio mixing of all the pre-recorded pieces as well as picture Online and outputs from our AVID Adrenaline. Digibeta's were delivered to the network for play out during the Telethon event. We are proud to have been involved and contribute towards a great NZ tradition that supports our community. |

Screentime bring you another great series of the top rating show Marae DIY. Be sure to catch the first episode on air 8pm 4th October 2009.
If the last series was anything to go by, (best reality format programme at the 2007 Qantas Media Awards and also a finalist in the 2007 TV Guide People’s Choice Awards and the Air New Zealand Screen Awards), then we're in for a another great series.
Brendon Morrow was again responsible for crafting together the sound scape and taking control of the DIY chaos, giving the shows a smooth and full sounding mix.

NZ International Film Festival 2009 |

Native Audio are proud to see, The Strength of Water and I'm Not Harry Jensen at the New Zealand Film Festival. Check the website for screening times.
The ADR for "The Strength of Water" was accomplished with the help of VoiceQ. The percentage of dialogue being replaced was high and many of the actors were fairly new to the ADR process, so VoiceQ was essential in helping take the normal difficulties of ADR out of the process and letting the actors concentrate on performance instead. The film was mixed in Berlin.
"An ineffable unity of loss and renewal, sadness and hope flows through this bold and gravely beautiful film."

Foley for the feature "I'm Not Harry Jensen" was initially a daunting task for Native Audio. The film, set in native bush, meant hours and hours and hours of footsteps on grass, leaves, twigs, gravel, sand. We felt like we'd tramped the Milford track ten times after this one. However the attention to detail in the foley really added the depth to the sound design of Nick Buckton and composition of Peter hobbs creating a full and interesting soundscape.
"His desperate agent suggests joining a tramping party in NZ to clear his head. How could he guess that he's transplanting his troubled client from urban noir into a bloody backwoods whodunit?"

We've been busy working on Freaky Meat's new album. Final stages of recording then into mix. Remember Native Audio is not just an audio post house. We have a really large live room that can fit 80 people standing and 40 people sitting. Perfect for Strings, Drums, Horns and everything in between. Need a sound isolated room to shoot your PTC or green screen scene?Need a studio backdrop for your next music video? Want to record a high quality live demo with everyone playing at the same time?

We had the pleasure of Rachel McAdams (The Notebook, Sherlock Holmes, Wedding Crashes) for ADR recording on 'State of Play', the new film from director Kevin MacDonald, starring Russel Crowe, Ben Affleck and many more. The session was done with a live hookup to LA using Source Connect. Watch the trailer here. Andy Whitfield was also with us for ADR on "The Clinic" an Australian thriller being mixed in Sydney as we speak. Again Source Connect was used to live hook up with Sydney. |

We have been working away on our new partnership with Native Post (formerly CPO). Together we have pulled resources and can offer a far greater range of services now from Smoke, AVID HD, Final Cut HD, Red Camera Workflow, Shooting Space and of course our 3 sound suites, Foley Room and huge Live Room, all of which were previously named Eden Post Productions. We welcome the skills and experience of Charlie Percy and Simon Spencer-Dunn to add to the mix of our experienced and creative team here at Native Audio and VoiceQ. 01.02.09 GM and Senior Engineer, Greg Junovich, was off in Europe late 2008 representing VoiceQ on the German dub of Tom Cruises new film Valkyrie. |
